Is consistency the most important thing when it comes to working out?
If exercise had nothing to do with our appearance, do you think people would still be interested in exercising?!
I can promise you that at least 70% of the members would stop showing up to the gym, or working out all together.
We all know that consistency is key when it comes to fitness, but what you should also keep in mind, is that the most important thing is the core reason, “WHY” you workout. Your “why” is going to help you stay consistent, and not rely on will power/motivation.
Focusing mainly on appearance while working out, can ruin the relationship you have with your health/exercise. This can prevent you from improving, and enjoying the process.
When you make looks the primary focus, it’s easy to sacrifice your health with crazy dieting and overtraining, thereby resulting to an unhealthy body. Always remember this: ” a healthy body looks good, but an unhealthy body doesn’t”. When you focus on health, the aesthetics will come with it as a bonus.
Here are other benefits of working out to keep in mind:
- Gaining strength
- Reducing stress
- Preventing depression
- Improving overall physical health and longevity
- Healthy metabolism
- And many more…
Now get out there, set new goals, and enjoy breaking a sweat! 🙂
